Random Gleanings: Now & Later - Why Markets Are So Challenging

Markets cannot be predicted, but an understanding of market history can provide some context for making some assumptions on what may be to come. The challenge of this market right now is there are some signals that can support both bullish and bearish outcomes. As such, defining one's time horizon (accumulator vs distributor), managing risk, and some humility in navigating these choppy waters remains prudent. Chris and Jesse tackle the topic of some Now & Later signals, discuss the "Rule of 20" as it pertains to inflation and stock valuations, and recognize the separation of duties between the Federal Reserve and the White House coming out of a recent meeting. The framework as proposed is Phase 1: Get Out of the Way, Phase 2: Get Your Buying List Ready, Phase 3: Birds are Singing Again . Watch/Listen the guys work through this framework and send your thoughts (info@proplanwealth.com) as to what phase we are in... Phase 1 still? or Phase 2? I think it's safe to say the Birds aren't Singing in the markets.... yet. Please Enjoy, Subscribe and Share!

Random Gleanings: Are Bonds Busted?

Bonds are traditionally thought of as part of an asset allocation strategy that is meant to ballast the overall against downside volatility... and NORMALLY that has been true. Not so much in 2022. Jesse and Chris talk through the difficulty of the year so far, particularly around the fact that "conservative" allocations have seen nearly as much downside performance as the "aggressive" allocations. Very unusual. Additionally, the guys celebrate Moms in advance of Mother's Day and share some lessons they've each learned from the Mom's in their lives. Enjoy, Share & Subscribe!

Random Gleanings: Why is the Market Going Down?

So far this year, markets have been challenging - to say the least. Chris and Jesse work through the big question of WHY? Why are markets going down? AND... if they're going down, why are we invested at all? Big questions which requires humility in attempting answers. That said, it's what Random Gleanings is all about... working through the topics of the day transparently. Hope you enjoy, share and subscribe.
