Dollar Cost Averaging Your Money
While markets have recently been higher than other periods, there have been some eras that were absolutely terrible – if you didn't utilize DOLLAR-COST AVERAGING.
Here are some charts showing the market performance back in the 2000's era and it was horrific. You would have made less than 1% return on your money if you had strictly invested in the #sp500 for ten years between 2000-2010. But, if you had used dollar-cost averaging during that same time period, you would have been up almost 14%.
This is really important to understand and implement into your long-term investing strategy.
